New Merit Badge Released

Scouting America Launched Wildland Fire Management Merit Badge at Jamboree

It equips Scouts with knowledge of wildfire prevention, response, and natural resource stewardship.

Character Development

The Wildland Fire Management merit badge helps Scouts build responsibility, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship. By learning about wildland fires and their impacts on ecosystems and communities, Scouts develop empathy and a sense of responsibility to understand both the positive and negative effects of wildland fire.

They also gain problem-solving and decision-making skills by studying fire behavior, prevention, and safety practices. Activities like creating fire plans and participating in community efforts promote leadership, teamwork, and civic engagement. Overall, the badge equips Scouts with practical knowledge and essential life skills for real-world situations.
